Sudarshan Shetty is known for his large-scale sculpture and installations, he’s also a painter who sometimes combines these forms in object-assemblages. Sudarshan Shetty takes objects apart without dismantling them, decoding them by revealing their mechanical being. He experiments with found objects in a variety of media with the idea of creating an emotionally charged experience. This incongruous association of objects bearing different meanings is intended to form new meaning and create an abstract space where his enduring fascination with the dark underbelly of the object-human relation, the duality of free will and the inertness of things are visually exploded. Sudarshan Shetty is quoted as saying, “I find myself delving into and drawing from the unspoken, or in many cases the socially understated that ticks beneath the surface of all human interactions. I embrace this predicament and rejoice in it. I am interested in the idea of absence, a human absence, of being elsewhere. I think most of us are condemned to be elsewhere. “
